Car thefts
Car thieves were again active in Christchurch at the week-end. From 4 p.m. on Friday to yesterday afternoon 42 vehicles had been reported stolen to the Christchurch police. Fourteen of them had been recovered from midnight on Saturday to yesterday afternoon, said a police spokesman. There appeared to be no pattern to the offending.
