J. Webster expands
PA Auckland John Webster, Ltd, is erecting a building on its Mt Roskill property to cope with increased output, the chairman, Mr A. J. Goldsmith, says in the annual report. It should be completed by December. As reported, the company lifted tax-paid trading profit 70.7 per cent to $1,783,143 in the March year on 30.9 percent higher sales of $22 million. The company is making a one-for-five bonus share issue. Mr Goldsmith says the policy of buying high technology plant enables the company to produce quality garments efficiently at a cost to maintain competitiveness. Mr Goldsmith says the company has achieved greater penetration of markets, both domestically and overseas.
