Resort project
Work has started on Lakeland House, a $1.5 million building in the commercial centre of Queenstown, report the owners, Lakeland Properties, Ltd. The company chairman, Mr Allan McKechnie, of Queenstown, says construction on the Beach and Camp Streets prime corner site is expected to be completed before the end of the year. “The three-storey building will be fully tenanted and operational in time for the mid-summer influx of tourists to the resort,” he said.
Lakeland Properties officially opened another of its commercial holdings in Queenstown recently, a twostorey building on the Lake Wakatipu frontage housing four retail premises. “Booming business in the township this winter has meant that retail and commercial properties are keenly sought after. As the first pub-lic-listed property company based in Queenstown, we are continuing to seek additional sound commercial investments in the Southern Lakes region,” Mr McKechnie said.
