Rigging punished

The Hungarian first division soccer players have been punished after cases of matchrigging last season, the official MTI news agency has reported. It said the Hungarian Football Association had taken action against two players from the relegation-threatened Tatabanya, the goalkeeper, Imre Kiss, and the defender, Laszlo Fischer, for trying to bribe Szombathely players. Kiss received a reprimand, while Fischer was barred for six matches and deprived of his SNZII3B bonus.

Two clubs, Ujpesti Dozsa, which finished tenth in the 16team first division, and Ferencvaros, finishing thirteenth, withdrew bonuses for players and officials totalling JNZ949O in each club.
