Flight to Disneyland
Tamara Beaumont, aged nine, tells Mr Denis Breese, the marketing manager for the Burroughs-Line Development Centre, how Christchurch Air New Zealand staff raised funds to send her to Disneyland last year. The staff is now raising funds to send at least 20 handicapped and terminally ill children, mainly from Canterbury, on a Californian holiday in October. Burroughs-Line has given $3OOO, which is enough to send one child over the age of 12 on the trip, and Mrs
Wilma Gillian, an organiser from the staff’s charitable trust, Koru Care, said more sponsorship was being sought. The children will leave on the first Christchurch to Los Angeles direct flight on October 27. They will spend 10 days visiting Disneyland, Knotts Berry Farm, San Diego and other attractions.
