FUTURES $NZ top picked
The United States dollar firmed against the New Zealand dollar yesterday, and Marac Challenge Futures was picking tha the top range for the New Zealand dollar was around U553.20C, said the general manager, Mr Barry Knutson.
The firm also expected a small correction in interest rates before they moved up again because of the September tax take.
It was an interesting day for wool futures, because the first auctions for the season yesterday were not traditionally as strong because of a lack of overseas interest. Mr Knutson predicted a fall of 20c in contracts in the next two to three months.
