Society’s mortgages up
PA Invercargill The Southland Building Society has increased mortgage rates for the second time this year, first mortgages for existing borrowers moving from 16 per cent to 18 per cent. Other rates also moved up between 1 per cent and 2 per cent from September 1 in response to continuing strength in interest rates for deposits, the society said.
