Ski boost likely
PA Dunedin One of the most influential groups of international ski-ing policy makers has arrived in Queenstown for a four-day conference, which is expected to boost New Zealand’s reputation as an emerging ski-ing nation. About 50 delegates and observers, representing all the world’s ski-ing countries, are attending the annual conference of the International Ski Instructors Association. It is the first time the European dominated
association has come to the Southern Hemisphere. Yesterday the delegates flew from Christchurch to Queenstown, and were welcomed by Mr Scott Callaway, executive director of the New Zealand Ski Instructors Association. The president of the international association, Mr K. Gamma, of Switzerland, also addressed the delegates. Business sessions were held, while today ski-ing workshops are scheduled at Coronet Peak, followed by a promotional evening.
