Commencing salary according to qualifications and relevant experience will be within the range of $18,277-825,445. The Health Service Personnel Commission is the statutory body responsible for determining the pay and employment conditions for approximately 38,000 staff employed by hospital boards. The Commission is also involved with negotiation of pay and conditions for a further 18,000 staff employed by hospital boards under awards and voluntary collective agreements. The appointee will assist with: —the investigation of salary and conditions claims —the handling of disputes —the development of HSPC industrial and personnel policies The position provides a unique opportunity for a person with an interest in industrial relations to gain experience in both state and private sector wage fixing procedures, and provides opportunities for further promotion on merit to other positions within the NZ Health Service. State Sector conditions apply to the position, as well as access to the Government Superannuation Fund. There will be opportunities for travel within New Zealand. A high standard of written and oral communication skills is required. Applicants should desirably hold a relevant qualification and/or relevant practical experience in personnel management or industrial relations.
