Rich in stamina and hard to beat if he jumps cleanly. 2 9322 Hutch 9 J. McGifford 61.5 Battled gamely after being responsible for most of pacemaking in Sydenham Hurdles. Hibberd 54.0 Seems to excel on heavy tracks at Riccarton and will be trying to repeat her performance of 12 months ago when successful at noth appearances. 4 3145 Strategy 11 G. Reid 51.0 Would have to improve out of sight on anything he has shown in each of his three starts this time up to be a winning prospect. . 10 2607 Gold King 14 P. Cameron 50.0 Failed to win in a dozen starts last season so appears to face tough assignment here in first race since sprint failure at Ashburton in June. 13 0780 Hotu Hui Lad 9 P. Mercer 50.0 Weak showing in lower grade 1600 m on first day. Is hardly a good recommendation for this. 14 6209 Macho Man 7 G. Elliot 50.0 Comes up with the odd good run but hard to allow much chance after his effort against the lower grade metric-milers on first day. Scratched: Ace Harmony, Paddy Beaufort. Pankhurst 56.5 Battling seventh in Brabazon Handicap last Saturday week but won sprints at Gore and Ashburton at his two previous starts. 4 1165 Sea Poppy 11 C. Johnson 55.0 Has not raced since April but speedy type which should still be in the thick of it for a fair way. 5 8063 Respring 10 G. Davison 54.5 Last-start third in Brabazon Handicap at Hunt Club meeting last Saturday week. Must rate bright chance again on a track where she seldom runs poorly and the prospect of drying ground. 6 6020 Tirana 9 ’.D. Frye 54.5 Weakened in run home in Brabazon Handicap last Saturday week but ran King Kaka

close at Ashburton at previous start. Has the pace to go close at this distance. 7 Hills Peak 15 H. Goscomb 54.0 Talented sprinter which has been off the scene for more than a year. Could still make his presence felt if produced at his best. 9 1130 Jonny Alone 14 G. Phillips 53.0 Very capable sprinter which lost his chance in the Brabazon Handicap last Saturday week by striking the stalls as they jumped. Previous efforts might be the best guide to his chance. 10 0107 Mighty Million 8 G. Elliot 53.0 Showed speed to turn when making fresh start at Washdyke last month. Should be improving but could need another run yet. 11 0901 Vrinsk 1 J. Dowling 53.0 Bolted in in the mud against the classtwo metric-milers last Saturday. Could shape well again despite the step up in class. 12 4675 Panther 4 D. Walsh 52.5 Has struck soft tracks in each of his three starts since resuming in June. Fifth in Brabazon Handicap last Saturday week was promising effort and could improve on that run today if he strikes better footing. 13 0536 Black Arrow 12 R. McCann 52.0 Battling sixth in heavy ground in last Saturday's Paparua Handicap but fair third at Trentham at previous start. This distance should suit better. 14 3436 Pokare 7 M. Lyndon 51.5 Failed to win one last season but shaped well at times for minor placings against fairly strong opposition. Has not raced since January but could still make a showing. 15 0640 Frederick the Great 16. . P. Mercer 51.0 Moderate fourth over this distance at Washdyke last month has been best show of form for some considerable time. Scratched: Shady News, Miss March.
