FUTURES $US contracts down $l000

U.S. dollar contracts dropped 200 points—-about slooo—on the futures market yesterday. The fall reflected the new post-de-valuation high for the N.Z. dollar yesterday on the foreign-exchange market. In the interest rate contracts (prime commercial bills), it was a day of quiet trading after high turnover on Monday. Mr Alan Overton, of Mair Futures, Christchurch, said it looked as if 7500 points would be an important mark in the September contract. The trading range was narrow, and the market largely closed at Monday’s lows. The wool contracts stirred yesterday, with 95 trades, compared with only 15 on Monday. Prices were
