Perry Dines Brierley Investments, Ltd, holds 19.45 per cent of Perry Dines Corporation’s share capital after private and on-mar-ket purchases of 2,139,700 Perry Dines ordinary shares, the companies have announced. Total consideration for the shares was $1,015,698, giving an average price of 47.5 c per share. Brierley’s will consider applying to the Commerce Commission to increase its shareholding beyond 20 per cent. Hong Kong Industrial Equity Pacific shares sold at $HK17.70 in Hong Kong yesterday. Kumara-2 Petrocorp reported that at 6 a.m. yesterday inspection of the drill string at the Kumara--2 well was continuing and, when complete, sidetracking would start.
Shares auctioned Kupe Petroleum, NL, said that 127,600 forfeited shares sold as one parcel for 53c a share yesterday at a public auction. Allied-Lyons Elders IXL, Ltd, the Australian finance, rural and industrial conglomerate, has declined to comment on press reports that it was “preparing to enlage its holding in the United Kingdom brewer, Allied-Lyons, at a cost of more than sAust2oo million, the “Financial Times” reported. Elders owns Carlton and United Breweries, Australia’s biggest brewer. The move, if confirmed, would give Elders useful leverage in Bond Corporation’s current sAustl.l billion take-over offer for Castlemaine Tooheys, Australia’s second largest brewer, in which Allied-Lyons is the biggest shareholder, with 24.7 per cent.
