B.B.C. strike resolve hardens
NZPA-AP London A technicians’ union said yesterday that it would join a one-day strike next week to protest against the British Broadcasting Corporation’s cancellation of a programme featuring an interview with the LR.A.’s alleged Chief of Staff.
The announcement raised the prospect of a complete black-out of 8.8. C. radio and television news programmes — both domestic broadcasts and overseas transmissions
The unions are protesting against the corporation’s compliance with a request from the Home Secretary, Mr Leon Brittan, and the Prime Minister, Mrs Margaret Thatcher, not to broadcast the programme, which they said would give publicity to terrorists.
