Many pets offered
A Woolston family whose cat was killed by an arrow earlier this week have been overwhelmed by offers of a new pet. Mrs Robyn Stewart said she had received at least a dozen offers of kittens, and one of a pup. The family had also been given a chocolate cake.
The attack on the family’s cat, Sarah, was reported in “The Press” yesterday. The cat was taken to a veterinarian after arriving at the family’s home in Rutherford Street with its face bleeding and mangled. It was put down by the veterinarian who found a
7.5 cm steel arrowhead embedded in the cat’s jaw. The cat was the pet of Mrs Stewart’s two children, Kirstie, aged 11, and Jamie, aged 10. The police were following t several lines of inquiry into the incident, said Constable Garry Tibbots yesterday.
