Wheat price
The indicator wheat price published by the Wheat Board has fallen another $ll to $249 a tonne. The fall in the price, which is an indicator to farmers for the coming week, follows a steady decline in the Australian wheat Board quotation for its standard white line this week. The Australian quotation dropped from SUSI3O a tonne last Monday and Tuesday to $127 yesterday. At the same time the value of the New Zealand dollar against the United States dollar climbed to a peak on Thursday of 0.5215. The daily conversions of the Australian quotations to New Zealand prices, f.0.b., fell from $255.40 a tonne on Monday to $244.23 a tonne yesterday, and the weekly average was $249.
