As New Zealand's Development Bank, DFC provides a wide range of assistance to new and existing industries. It concentrates on projects of benefit to New Zealand's economy. DFC is experiencing rapid growth and has assets in excess of one billion BB dollars. Project Analysts are required to evaluate applications for finance and to make recommendations to management on the commercial viability of projects in a broad range of industry sectors. The successful applicant would also be expected to actively promote DFC's lending services and seek out new business opportunities. The ability to relate well to a variety of business people from sole traders to senior staff in large companies is essential. The ideal applicant would be in the 25-30 age range, have tertiary qualifications in BH accounting or economics and have gained appropriate practical experience in a finance company or trading bank. Alternatively, qualifications in other disciplines and experience in industry could also be suitable if allied with a sound basic understanding of financial and management accounting. Although not essential, experience in selling, particularly in a service industry, would be of advantage. GENERAL MANAGER Due to the continued success of EXSYS and the consequent expansion of Adata Software, we are looking for a person to undertake the responsibilities of General Manager for the New Zealand operation. The General Manager will be responsible for the day-to-day administration of the N.Z. operation. He/She will also control the marketing of EXSYS within New Zealand, and liaise with distributors and our own subsidiaries overseas. Substantial contact with existing and new clients, at a management level, will be required. Responsibilities will also include supportive management in the areas of product development, product release, and quality assurance (which are the primary functions of the New Zealand company). This management role will be performed in co-operation with the existing technical management team. The position is a highly responsible one and carries appropriate remuneration. MAJOR PROJECT MANAGER $0.6 BILLION PROJECT — TWO YEAR CONTRACT — LONGER TERM PROSPECTS New Zealand Steel Development Limited has a joint responsibility to Government and the ultimate client, New Zealand Steel Limited, to effect the five-fold expansion of this steel industry. A Project Manager is required, to be responsible to the General Manager for the successful completion of stage two of the project. This comprises rolling mills and other plant to a total value of $0.6 billion. A major turnkey contract for most of the works is due to be completed later next year. THE JOB The appointee will be expected to: — Act as key client link with the major contractor. — Liaise with the separately appointed engineer to the contract. — Lead a team of specialists, which also has direct responsibility for some SNZSO Million of ancillary work. THE PERSON The successful applicant will have: — A proven track record with major international contract responsibilities. — A high level of communication and leadership skills. — A suitable tertiary engineering qualification - preferably mechanical or electrical. Knowledge of steel rolling technology would be helpful but is not regarded as essential. THE REWARDS For the right person, there will be no problems negotiating a suitably attractive package.
