Myxomatosis
Sir,—l see by Mrs Antoinette C. Tarlton’s letter (July 29) that farmers who signed a petition against myxomatosis were disgusted that the Pest Destruction Council would not listen to any other methods of destruction. The council is paid by the farmers and New Zealand taxpayers to do its best for all the country and the environment. There are too many chiefs and so-called experts getting paid at the top for doing nothing. The old-time rabbiter and his dogs would shift more than some of them. Put a bounty on rabbits. Come on Kiwis, don’t let them use this cruel method.—Yours, etc., L. S. ELLEN. Dunollie, July 30, 1985.
