Warehouse workers back
Warehouse workers at a Christchurch clothing factory returned to work yesterday morning after walking out on Thursday over a claim for a house agreement. The 80 workers, at Lane, Walker, Rudkin, Ltd, decided to return to work after their meeting at 8 a.m., although the company had not agreed to negotiate a house agreement. The company had agreed to consider other issues, including the working conditions and pay levels of the warehouse workers, with the Canterbury Stores, Packing and Warehouse Workers’ Union, said an organiser with the union, Mrs Linda Hoult.
