Salesman bankrupt
A real estate salesman was adjudged bankrupt by Mr Justice Hillyer in the High Court yesterday, on the petition of an antique dealer who proved a debt of $20,570 against the salesman. Evidence was given that the salesman, Thomas Christopher Coleman, owed the money to Clifford Ballard, an antique dealer, of Papanui Road. Mr Ballard said the debt was not secured, and none of it had been repaid by the time of yesterday’s court hearing. Miss M. McLeay appeared for the petitioning creditor.
