Actor critical, says agent
NZPA-Reuter Los Angeles The American film star, Rock Hudson, was slipping in and out of a coma in a Paris hospital and was in a very critical condition with an inoperable liver cancer, said his press agent yesterday. Asked about press speculation that Hudson, aged 59, has A.1.D.5., the spokesman, Dale Olson, said: “One of his doctors in Paris said he had found no evidence of A.I.D.S. These reports are purely press speculation.” Hudson, a star of 62 films, recently appeared in the hit television series “Dynasty.” Hudson had been with a former co-star, Doris Day, at her home at Carmel, California, last week before he flew to Paris on Sunday after complaining he was not feeling well. Friends in Carmel were amazed that Hudson had lost so much weight from his 193 cm frame. He looked haggard and tired, they said. Mr Olson said Hudson was admitted to the American Hospital after being told by friends to see a specific doctor. (In Paris, an American Hospital spokesman said Hudson had not been admitted to the hospital for treatment of any kind.)
