Largest car display in S.I.
The largest display of cars and accessories ever seen at a South Island venue will be open to the public at Canterbury Court this week, when the Mancan Foundation, Ltd, the commercial arm of the Canterbury Manufacturers’ Association,
opens its Motor Show 85 at 1 p.m. on Thursday. Covering an area of 14,000 sq. m, Motor Show 85 will fill three buildings and the demand for space has been such that some would-be exhibitors have had to be turned away.
The show will run from Thursday to Sunday, between 1 p.m. and 9 p.m. daily, with the exception of Sunday when the show will close at 5 p.m. Just to add interest to the show, Turners Car Auctions, Ltd, one of the exhibitors,
will conduct a competition, the winner of which will receive tickets for two to attend the Tokyo Motor Show in October. With the tickets to that show will be free air tickets to Japan, plus accommoda-
tion for the lucky couple. Apart from that competition, there will be plenty more to interest visitors to Motor Show 85. As well as the variety of locally assembled cars, there will be a vast array of imported exotics.
