Electrical goods, van stolen
A van and electrical goods were stolen from Hamer Electrical, 162 Tuam Street, on Monday night. The firm’s general manager, Mr Derek Hearn, said the burglars entered the building through the roof. A 1982 Ford Econovan, registration number KP566, which had been locked in the building, was filled with electric drills, food mixers, heaters, and wet and dry vacuum cleaners before being driven away. The company was still trying to determine how much had been taken but Mr Hearn said the electrical items would be worth several thousand dollars. The office was not entered, he said.
