Teresa Hansby, one of the longest serving members of the Labour Party, died in Westport at the week-end, aged 92... Mrs Hansby was a life member of the Westport branch and held the party’s Gold Star award in recognition of her 70 years Service to the party. This included being secretary to the Buller member of Parliament, Mr Harry Holland, r
and helping raise funds to maintain the former Labour Party rooms in Queen Street. . Mrs Hansby was actively involved in the party until her late eighties, and continued to follow politics closely. - She is survived by four daughters and two sons. A Requiem service was held at St Canice’s Church yesterday. ,2"
