$2000 in cash snatched
A man snatched about $2OOO in cash and cheques from Warner’s Hotel yesterday. A police spokesman said the money, contained in a cash tin, was being counted on the hotel’s reception desk. A man snatched the tin at 10.15 a.m. then ran along Gloucester Street. He was described as a Maori, aged about 25, of slim'build, and was wearing a grey T-shirt and blue jeans. Staff at the hotel would not comment on the theft yesterday.
