Kiwi stock to close tomorrow
PA Wellington The fourth issue of Kiwi savings stock will close tomorrow. The Minister of Finance, Mr Douglas, said it would be followed 10 days later by a fifth issue at the same 17 per cent interest rate and for the same periods of either two or four years. The purpose was to keep available to investors what had proved to be an attractive Government retail issue, he said. The terms of the prospectus made it necessary to close the present issue of Kiwi savings stock in July. Mr Douglas said the Government had kept the same interest rates in spite of indications from the market that rates there might be declining.
