Everett has new ‘friends’

The British comic Kenny Everett returns to our screens on One this evening, introducing a new character, punk rocker Gizzard Puke. The eight half-hour “Kenny Everett Television Shows” will see him starring in a mini-series called “Dallasty,” playing R.J., Berk Barrington and Pam Stewing. Guests will include Billy Connolly, Joanna Lumley, Toyah Willcox, Simon Caddell, Richard Johnson, Lionel Blair, Terry Wogan and Britt Ekland. Kenny Everett, aged 41, was born Maurice Cole in Liverpool. He began his working life in a bakery, progressed to an advertising agency and then on to newspapers. He made his name as a disc jockey with Radio Luxemburg, subsequently worked with Capital Radio and BBC Radio, then moved into television.
