Academic returns to N.Z.
PA Wellington A New Zealander who has been a leading academic at an Australian university for the last 11 years is the new vice-chancellor at Victoria University. Professor Leslie Holborow, aged 44, a pro-vice-chancellor at the University of Queensland, succeeds Dr lan Axford who is returning
to Europe to continue his re- earch work. Professor Holborrow graduated with first class honours in Philosophy at Auckland University then at Merton College, Oxford, under a Commonwealth Scholarship. He taught at the University of Dundee from 1965 to 1974 when he was appointed Professor of Philosophy in Queensland
