Box 20047 CHRISTCHURCH Phone 599-774 ® NEW ZEALAND FOREST SERVICE CRAIGIEBURN FOREST PARK AMENDMENT TO MANAGEMENT PLAN REVIEW: ZONING OF AVOCA CATCHMENT THE CONSERVATOR OF FORESTS, Christchurch, acting on the recommendation of the Craigieburn Forest Park Advisory Committee, is considering promoting to the Minister of Forests a change to the zoning of the Avoca catchment in the Craigieburn Forest Park Management Plan. In the publicly notified management plan review of August 1984, the whole of the Avoca catchment within the forest park was zoned steepland protection, following notice by the Forest Research Institute of its intention to relinquish part of the restricted-entry research area later this year. In considering submissions to the review at a meeting on March 24, 1985, the Craigieburn Forest Park Advisory Committee recommended that this catchment be changed to remote experience zoning. Copies of fhe Craigieburn Forest Park Management Plan, the 1984 review, and a map showing the boundary of this zone change may be inspected at the office of the N.Z. Forest Service, 133 Victoria Street, Christchurch. Any objections to the proposed change must be lodged in writing with the Conservator of Forests, N.Z. Forest Service, P.O. Box 25-022, Christchurch, on or before Friday, July 19, 1985. J. W. LEVY, Conservator of Forests.
