ROSSER, Headmaster PUBLIC INQUIRY INTO CATHEDRAL SQUARE THE CHRISTCHURCH CITY COUNCIL has appointed a Committee of Inquiry into Cathedral Square, with the following terms of reference: 1. To investigate the current situation in Cathedral Square from the point of view of ALL users to establish the main problem areas perceived by users. 2. To consider physical aspects that may reflect on social issues. 3. To consider ideas of a positive nature that could ameliorate the natural, physical and social environment. 4. That the Committee may broaden its terms of reference if necessary. 5. To make recommendations to the appropriate authorities based on those consultations as to how the use of the Square, as a public amenity, can be improved. The Council invites written submissions from individuals, welfare groups, cultural groups, transport interests, commercial interests and all other parties who wish to offer comment. Written submission should be lodged by Friday, July 26 1985, and should be addressed to: The Secretary, Committee of Inquiry into Cathedral Square, Christchurch City Council, P.O. NEW ZEALAND kg/ FOREST SERVICE SOUTH CANTERBURY RANGER DISTRICT Draft Wild Animal Control Plan 1985-1990 A DRAFT WILD Animal Control Plan for the 19851990 period has been prepared for the South Canterbury Ranger District (that area lying between the Waitaki and Rakaia Rivers, the Southern Alps, and the sea). Preparation of this plan is in accordance with section 5 (1) (d) of the Wild Animal Control Act 1977. The plans covers much Crown-owned land of various tenures in South Canterbury, and for this reason it is intended that the approval of the Minister of Forests be sought to the final plan. Copies of the plan are available for inspection at Forest Service offices at 133 Victoria Street, Christchurch, or 19 W’oollcombe Street, Timaru, or may be purchased at these offices for $4 each. Interested groups or individuals are invited to submit comments on the draft in writing to the Conservator of Forests, N.Z. Forest Service, P.O.
