Nats plan visits to schools
PA Wellington The National Party has launched a scheme aimed at getting young people’s views on nationwide issues. The Opposition spokesman on internal affairs, Mr Graeme Lee, said during his Budget speech in Parliament that Project Youth Views was based on Opposition members making themselves available to visit colleges, high schools, and youth groups to talk to sixth-formers and seventhformers. Later, Mr Lee said the emphasis would be on listening to what young people had to say. International Year of Youth was all about the concerns and aspirations of young people, he said. “It is also about mechanisms by which young people can participate in society’s decision-making processes.
