Family car first in marathon
NZPA-AAP London A family on a quiet Sunday motoring excursion encountered more than they bargained for when they took a wrong turn and got caught in a 41km marathon. A Chinese couple and their three children found themselves leading the 7000 race contestants through the streets of Manchester together with three official cars. The family reportedly cringed with embarrassment as spectators lining the route roared with laughter at their mistake. The “Sun” newspaper reported that the car managed to escape the race convoy only when the first runners crossed the line.
