Personal grievance hearings
PA Dunedin Two personal grievance hearings relating to the industrial dispute at the Clyde dam will be held in Cromwell today. A Chrstchurch mediator, Mr Brian Gray, will hear them. The Clyde dispute involves crane drivers employed by the dam contractor, Zublin-Williamson. The first hearing concerns the case of a crane-driver sacked after refusing to work because he considered it was unsafe to do so. This issue led to all concrete pouring on the site being stopped, and more than 200 workers being suspended. The second hearing involves the case of another driver also dismissed after refusing to work.
