Suspicious fire
The Christchurch C. 1.8. and fire-safety officers are investigating the cause of a suspicious fire which broke out in the foyer of the C.M.L. building,’ in Cathedral Square, about 8.25 p.m. yesterday. The fire appeared to have started in some rubbish bags in the foyer, said a Fire Service spokesman. Sprinklers in the building quickly brought the small fire under control. Firemen were at the scene for about an hour.
