Winter writing contest

Junior Press readers have just one more week to enter a writing contest organised by “The Press.” Entries should be in the form of a letter or story about winter and must not exceed 200 words. A selection of entries, including the winners, will be published in future editions of the Junior Press. The best three entries in two sections — under 10 years, and those from children aged 10 and over — will receive ?2 book vouchers. Print clearly using one side of the paper only. Remember to include your name, address, age and telephone number and have your entry signed by a parent, guardian or teacher who can verify the work as original. Entry is open to all children except the immediate family members of employees of “The Press.”

Entries must reach “The Press” by 4 p.m. on Tuesday, July 9, and the winners will be announced in the Junior Press on July 16. Send entries to: Junior Press, “The Press,” P.O. Box 1005, Christchurch.
