Actress marries
NZPA-AP Dallas The ceremony started 20 minutes late but the wedding between the actress, Victoria Principal, and a Beverly Hills plastic surgeon, Harry Glassman, otherwise went off without a hitch yesterday. Only family members and close friends were allowed at the wedding at the Mansion, an exclusive Dallas hotel. But about 50 photographers and almost as many curious onlookers waited outside for a glimpse of Miss Principal, who played Bobby Ewing’s wife,
Pam, on the television series “Dallas”.
After the ceremony the actress, who is 36, and her husband, aged 42, appeared briefly on a hotel balcony and waved to onlookers. The vows were exchanged under a bower of ivy and gardenias in the hotel’s garden room. A flautist played for the ceremony, performed by James Allen, Associate Justice of the Dallas County Court of Appeals. The reception also was at the Mansion.
The 20-minute delay had been caused by a misunder-
standing between Judge Allen and the couple, said a hotel spokeswoman, Julia Sweeney. “They thought the judge had not arrived but he had,” she said. “He was waiting in another room.” The Mansion is the summer home for the actress while she is filming episodes of Dallas. Miss Principal also lived at the hotel last year, Ms Sweeney said. The couple had no plans for a honeymoon and was scheduled to stay in Dallas through the (northern) summer, Ms Sweeney said.
