Snow on Porters Pass
The Porters Pass road was closed to all but four-wheel-drive vehicles until 10 a.m. yesterday after 20 cm of snow fell overnight on Saturday, said the Automobile Association (Canterbury). It advised that chains should be carried by motorists driving over Porters Pass.
