As one of the world’s largest marketers of milk powders, we have built an enviable reputation based on the highest quality products, advanced research and development and a high level of technical servicing and support. THE POSITION The role of Technical Officer with the Powder Division is particularly vital in view of the considerable developments in the technology of milk powder production and process application currently being planned. Increasingly, milk powders must be tailored to the requirements of a customer s particular manufacturing process and the right person can therefore expect to become involved in the full gambit of milk powder technology. A major function will be liaison with both producing companies and international customers. Interpretation and refinement of customer requirements’ together with follow up to the actual production environment, forms a vital link in maintaining the Board’s position in the international market. The need for continuing product development will result in the appointees providing significant input, both in consultation with prospective customers and with the various research facilities. THE PERSON —ldeally aged between 25 and mid 30’s. -Minimum qualification-Diploma in Dairy Technology preferably with some Factory Management experience. —Applicants with tertiary qualifications in Food Technology, Chemical Engineering, or Process Engineering would also be welcomed. A prime requisite, however, is the ability to deal confidently with senior commercial and production executives of major overseas client companies and of dairv companies within New Zealand. The ability to work closely with customers in their end production methods would be a decided advantage, but an innovative approach to new ideas, projects and problem solving is essential, as is a high degree of enthusiasm for the job as a whole.
