College honours surgeon
PA Auckland An Auckland heart surgeon, Sir Brian BarrattBoyes, has been awarded an honorary fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons. Only 120 people can hold the honour at one time and it is believed to be the first time the London college has awarded the fellowship to a New Zealander.
Sir Brian has just returned from the United States and London, where he collected the award.
