Tourist still in hospital after fall

Greymouth reporter An American tourist who fell into a blowhole at the Pancake Rocks, Punakaiki, on Friday afternoon was still in a comfortable condition in the Grey Hospital last evening. Cynthia Gale Megi, aged 29, of Arizona, who was rescued by a helicopter after being in the water for about an hour, is suffering from a broken elbow, hypothermia, and abrasions. Mrs Megi, whose name was wrongly given as Neagle on Friday evening, was one of a tour party of 37 taking photographs at the time of the incident.
