PHONE 584-169 IN THE MATTER of the Water and Soil Conservation Act 1967 and its Amendments AND IN THE MATTER of the draft National Water Conservation (Rakaia River) Order 1985 TAKE NOTICE that pursuant to 5.20C(2) of the Act, the Planning Tribunal has conducted a public inquiry, into the submissions and objections received by it, in respect of the above cited draft order. AND FURTHER TAKE NOTICE that the Tribunal has pursuant to 5.20C(6) (a) of the Act, reported to the Minister of Works and Development and has recommended: (1) That the objections to the draft Order be upheld to the extent necessary to make the changes referred to in the Report, and Incorporated in the re-drafted Order as set out in the Report. (2) That, in all other respects, the objections be disallowed. (3) That, in consequence, the Rakaia River and all rivers and streams contributing to that river; Lake Heron and its tributary streams; and Lake Coleridge and its tributary streams be made the subject of a National Water Conservation Order in terms of the original application as later amended by the applicants and further modified by the recommendations made in the Report. (4) That the National Water Conservation Order be as set out in the Report.
