L. August suspended
PA Auckland An apprentice, Leanna August, was suspended up to and including Wednesday after being found guilty of careless riding in the Paerata Hotel Improvers at Pukekohe yesterday. It was found that August’s mount, Devon Temple, moved out into the line of running of Inchmore with about 100 m to run. Inchmore was severely checked. Devon Temple was relegated to third and Inchmore promoted to second. Paul O’Sullivan, co-trainer of Misty Shire, which finished thirteenth in the Paerata Hotel Improvers, was fined $l5 for not having the horse in the birdcage at the required time.
