Spiders harmless
..Spiders found in a Rangiora garden earlier this week have been identified as the harmless New Zealand Tunnel Web. The spiders were very similar in appearance to the poisonous Australian Funnel Web, and were sent to the Otago Museum to be examined by the official adviser on spiders to the Health Department, Dr Lyn Foster. A Rangiora kindergarten which was closed when the spiders were found on the neighbouring property will reopen next week.
