BULLER RURAL EDUCATION ACTIVITIES PROGRAMME OUTDOOR EDUCATION CO-ORDINATOR APPLICATIONS are Invited from suitably qualified persons for the part-time position of outdoor education coordinator, for the Buller Rural Education Activities programme. This is a 0.5 position which equates to 100 days’ work per year but the management committee is interested in this time being worked for 2.5 days per week. Hours of work will be arranged with the successful applicant. The appointment is made annually. Experience In a wide range of outdoor education activities, including the teaching of adults, would be an advantage, but the prime requirements are for a person to develop programmes and resources in the outdoors, and to assist in co-ordinating present activities and Instruction to schools and other organisations. The successful applicant could be based at Westport and will be responsible to the Buller R.E.A.P. Committee of Management. A considerable amount of travel could be Involved to cover the area (Buller/Inangahua Counties and Murchison area) and the appointee will be expected to work within a limited budget for finance and time. Conditions of service and leave would be in accordance with qualifications. Secondment from an existing teaching position would be considered.
