The appointee will be expected to develop models simulating future system operation so that best use can be made of resources, and future expansion and operating parameters determined. He/she will also be expected to maintain existing computer models of the power system. The successful applicant will have good qualifications in computer science and/or operations research and will preferably have had experience in a large technically oriented organisation. He will be expected to initiate much of his/her own work, but will form part of a team involved in energy planning in New Zealand.
