Kumara-2 well at 301 metres
PA Wellington There has been no hydrocarbon show to date at the Kumara-2 well, Petrocorp reported yesterday. As operator of PPL 38070, it said the well was at a depth of 301 m at 6 a.m. yesterday. Drilling operations were continuing.
The Kumara-2 well is being drilled about 18m south of Greymouth, but the Rockdrill rig No. 20 will test the hydrocarbon potential of a trap on the Kumara structure.
The participating interests in PPL 38070 are: Ministry of Energy 39 per cent; Petrocorp 27; Luxoil 18; Petroleum Resources, Ltd, 10; Kupe Petroleum 6.
