Rural Bank changes in Christchurch
Two senior appointments to the Rural Banking and Finance Corporation’s branch in Christchurch have been announced.
Mr K. J. Keelty, who has been regional appraiser for the Rural Bank in Christchurch has been promoted to the position of Christchurch regional manager and the bank’s assistant manager. Mr K. G. Muirhead, has been appointed as manager, lending. Mr Ken Keelty, who came originally from Southland, started as a rural field cadet with the State Advances Corporation in 1955. He was then appointed as a farm appraiser at Nelson, moving to Hamilton and Napier before returning to Invercargill as a district appraiser in 1968. In 1974 he moved to Rotorua and in 1984 to Christchurch as regional appraiser. The new manager, lending, Mr George Muirhead. started with the State Advances Corporation as a clerical cadet in 1946 and worked in Nelson. Palmerston North, and Wellington before becoming resident officer in Timaru in 1965. He stayed in Timaru until 1978 when he was appointed assistant manager, rural lending s in Christchurch, being transferred there to the Rural Bank in 1984.
