Mr Geary on board of Air N.Z.
PA Wellington The Government has announced that the appointment of Air New Zealand’s chief executive, Mr Norman Geary, to the Air New Zealand board. Mr Geary’s appointment increased the number on the board to its maximum legal size, said the Minister of Civil Aviation, Mr Prebble. The chairman of the board, Mr Hugh Fletcher, recommended Mr Geary’s appointment. “The Government has agreed to this recommendation because we believe Mr Geary will make an excellent contribution to the board. His appointment is also public recognition by the Government, as shareholder in Air New Zealand on behalf of the people, of the very significant role he has played in Air New Zealand’s return to profitability," Mr Prebble said.
