Jail for P.O. robbery
PA Auckland A Mongrel Mob member, aged 23, has been jailed for five years for his part in the robbery of a Mangere post office on November 5 when he appeared in the High Court at Auckland. Tuta Rangi Hohipa Ngarimu, unemployed, had previously pleaded guilty to a charge of aggravated robbery and two charges of taking cars. More than $12,000 was taken in the robbery. The Court heard that $650 had been recovered. Ngarimu was sentenced to two years jail for the theft of a car and 18 months imprisonment for the theft of the vehicle involved in the robbery, the terms to be concurrent with the fiveyear sentence for aggravated robbery.
