Employers’ Assoc, director retires
Mr Norman West has retired after 33 years service with the Canterbury Employers’ Association, the last 17W as director.
Mr West, who is 57, will leave his office in Kilmore Street in two weeks but will continue with some project work for the association. His successor is Mr Colin Mclnnes, who has been deputy director for the last three years after 14 years as an advocate for the
association. Mr West will continue as an acting nominated member of the Arbitration Court. He represented the Employers’ Federation as an adviser at the 1958, 1971, and 1979 conferences of the International Labour Organisation, as well as an 1.L.0. seminar at Manila in 1980. He also studied industrial relations in West Germany in 1983 as a guest of the West German Government.
