Return for N.Z. oboist
Guy Henderson, the principal oboist with the New Zealand Symphony Orchestra in the early 19605, will return to New Zealand next month as a member of the Australian Wind Virtuosi. Mr Henderson is principal oboist with the Sydney Symphony Orchestra. He will join four of Australia’s top wind instrumentalists ia a
concert tour of eight cities for the Music Federation. The Wind Virtuosi first toured this country in 1982. The instruments played by the group are flute, oboe, bassoon, horn and clarinet. Apart from performing for the Sydney Opera House Trust, and the Australian Broadcasting Corporation,
the group tours extensively throughout Australia.
The Australia New Zealand Foundation, established in 1978 to promote transTasman co-operation, is providing funds for the tour. The Wind Virtuosi will play in Christchurch on June 22. This will be the last codcert of the tour.
